I dunno who would be reading this, as I doubt much ppl are looking at this blog now...

Anyway just to let you guys know things regarding yesterday's Practice/Discussion for CNY Show...

I've canceled it in the end, as in the end there's only 3 of us who's there at 7pm, 2 person who would be coming late...

I'm quite sure that there isn't any day where we can gather everyone together...

Though the idea for the CNY show is very interesting, but I kinda doubt we'll have enough time to rehearse it...

1) We need everyone there to get the show flowing smoothy...
2) There isn't a day where everyone's free...
3) LWS would be close till Thursday...

My other suggestion is just doing Songs which would be easier as we dun have to get everyone together... You'll just need to practice within your groups...

I've dicussed with JJ Lao Shi, he said that he'll have the Practice on Friday during PG...

I dunno if he's still keeping the original idea... But if you guys have any songs, group item, try to practice them first...

Do let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas or wat-so-ever...

Lastly, please don't be late for PG on Friday...

According to some band members, Freddie Mercury had worked out the entire song in his head and directed the band through the song.

May, Mercury, and Taylor sang their vocal parts continually for ten to twelve hours a day for 3 weeks, resulting in 180 separate overdubs.

The band used many unique instruments to produce the song, including a Fender Precision Electric Bass, May's Red Special electric guitar, Ludwig Drums, timpani and a Paiste Gong. Mercury used a Bechstein "Concert" Grand Piano, the same he'd later play in both the promotional video and the UK Tour.

When it was finished it was the most expensive single ever made and remains one of the most elaborate recordings in music history.

The song is nearly six minutes in length and is composed of six distinct sections - introduction, ballad, guitar solo, opera, rock, and an outro.

The video for the single was directed by Bruce Gowers, using ideas from the band members themselves. It was created to allow the band to be on tour and appear "live" on the BBC's Top of the Pops. Shot in just over four hours on the band's rehearsal stage, it cost £4500 to produce, using an outside broadcast truck owned by one of the band's managers. This was a very small sum compared to the multi-million dollar industry music videos have become.

As usual, I get to pop into only after my class which by that time is already 830pm :( mmm the sops had just done their item when I stepped in... (offtopic I know a little bit of their item too!!! /offtopic) and the altos were due to present. I dont really know what went on before that... more ABBA i suppose?? :P

the projects are making some progress but still a long way to go before the entire concept can be fully presented. keep at it, jiayou :)

solo items were viewed in this practice, starting from the youngest XD
quite a few nice items were seen... some have the potential to become really nice items in future.

Tonight's Pasir Ris Army Camp show was a blazing rocking fun time =) We had a lot of fun and of course thanks to the very enthu. crowd, the show was nice.

Kudos to all performers for the time spent on practicing so last minute.

We even got an interested lady who asked about our school and I passed her the school's phone number =)
We hope that she will call and more sales for LWSSOM to come!!!

That's how important each and every show is to us. Not just is it a chance for us to realise our dreams of performing, but also to help the school promote itself and bring in more students!!! Each time we perform we represent the school and everything it stands for, so continue to Jiayou! Practice hard! Keep Improving!!! Raise the standard of our performances!!!

We've been working our butts out for the upcoming shows... has been a long time since we did that i think... the new pg has brought about a bout of competitive spirit.... friendly competition i hope :P which is good for the overall growth. While hard work is good.. we have too also remind ourselves of the ever-so-difficult-to-tackle-problem of timeliness...

Well, many have been late for the last few practises :( let's all remember to be responsible towards other pg members ok? Like let's try to turn up on time for practices and try our best to contribute ideas to make upcoming shows more interesting and of a higher quality. Sometimes practises are not effective if not everyone is ard know? So better be on time and responsible the next time round...if not... your very fierce connie mummy will give you black face and a earful haha...

Today's practice is a big whirl of activities!

First part was maining learning the ABBA medley... after I finished my class I skipped over to the clubhouse and joined in the singing. Then during the break us Baby She's Honey people tried to squeeze in practices here and there because the people from the army show were coming down to see our items at 10pm.

So, 10pm arrived. We did our items the best we could and we did well :) Debriefing for that was positive =D The other peeps from the last batch also stayed and supported us while we were doing the items =) that's so nice... yay PG spirit.

And afterwards, more item checking for the Saturday Toa Payoh show. acks. 1st July, 8pm. Several duets and some solo items. Man... I gotta dig out some time after I wake up to burn the cd and finish ripping out the minus one music =.=

Anyways, no slacking. Keep your socks up! More shows coming up... dont forget about the 16th of July shows @ TAKA!!! Practice hard and have fun =D

For guys who have nt decided wat to do wif your life. I guessed its time that u should sit down at home, isolate yourself, talk to ur parents or maybe even gather a few frenz ask them, talk to them and realli think thru wat u really want in life. I believe in every life there are a few critical pts in every phase of our lives. Well, we've reached that 1 of that critical pt, and I'm quite glad that a lot of ppl are wif mi. Guys do remember that you are nv alone. During this few weeks, some ppl gradually became very worried and paranoid but there are ppl who are very confident and show no fear ;P simply the resilient kind.. haha.. Anyway dun worry la as long as you make effort, ppl will see it.

Haha... In the past, I always tell myself that I have to brush up my singing, singing is already so hard, I should just concentrate and not lose my focus. But after joining PG, I've made my choice! I've decided to take up guitar lessons in LWSSOM. I really hope to improve and learn more things, so that I can make my own music in future!!! But its kinda sad to start so late ar.. Haizz... Well, at least I know its never too late, better than NEVER!!! What about YOU??

This is going to be quite a long entry. but i just felt that i should share some of my thoughts wif u guys (if u're interested).

My Thoughts:

last nite was truly emotional. i can't say that i cried, cos i didn't, but seeing the tears of so many of my frens struck a chord deep inside me. i'm leaving this group of wonderful ppl.

at the very least i know that i'll always haf their frenship. but wat reallie saddened me was that i will no longer be able to work with them; share their joys and sorrows, or even just hang out wif them in the same way i had in the past year. time reallie passes fast, doesn't it?

many spoke out about their fears, apprehensions, dreams and aspirations last nite. it made me feel great that i had such a great family in LWS.. ppl who were willing to share wat they had. this is so different from wat i experience in uni.. as i said, most ppl were competitors rather than frens. but in the PG i reallie felt at home.

Puzzled & Full of Regret:

but yet there were times when i felt that i didn't belong. perhaps i felt the same way as darryl did: that i didn't deserve a place in the PG. seriously speaking, i haf no idea why i passed the auditions in the first place. i'm still kinda puzzled by it.

i've never had any dreams to pursue a music career, which was why i placed so much more emphasis on my studies instead. but it was after joining the PG that i developed a slight confidence in myself, and in the way i should present myself on stage. i nv got to the point of total relaxation while i'm performing (kinda hard habit to kick.. i think i've been tense my whole life), which is kind of a regret for me. i guess i nv reallie cherished all those chances i had to perform and to improve myself.

Feeling Guilty:

now that i'm entering my 4th year of uni, my parents haf been asking me to stop singing and concentrate on my school work. i've seen the worry in their eyes constantly for the past year cos i've been spending quite some time at LWS.. especially when the concert at esplanade came. i could literally see them panicking. i felt so guilty then.. although i tried to show them that i could cope wif sch and PG, i guess there was still nothing i could do to ease their fears.

so when i finally settled down to study for my exams, i could see the relief in their faces. i must say that they were extremely worried that i wouldn't do well in this sem's exams.. thank goodness i still passed everything rather satiscfactorily. but i could see them breaking out in cold sweat. i can fully understand their reactions.. they didn't want me fall at this last lap of my studying life.

but there is another major contributing factor to my decision to leave: i feel that i am unable to give my all to the PG, and it's terribly unfair to you guys. esp those who reallie gave their all. let's face it guys, it's been a year but i haven't reallie been performing much. i'm absent in 70% of all performances. not only am i feeling guilty towards my parents, i'm feeling guilty towards the PG. when i joined, i promised WSLS that i would contribute and give my all. i failed in that promise.

My Decision:

in both aspects, the decision was clear: it was best that i leave. i struggled wif this thought for a few months, becos i reallie couldn't bear the thot of leaving this big family. i didn't mention it to anyone.. not even my parents. it was something i had to decide on my own. those 3 months were reallie hard for me.. performances and exams were coming, reports were due, i was involved in lab work.. everything just piled up at once.

perhaps some of you may think that i'm trying to avoid the challenges ahead.. and maybe u're right. but i need to take things one step at a time. i shall finish my honours before deciding if i am able to come back and make more contributions to the PG. this is only fair.. there was no point in staying if i couldn't give my all to you guys. but when that time comes, i hope i make it thru the auditions again!

Future PG:

in the mean time, you guys will always haf me as a fren and constant supporter of all your performances. i hope all of you will be able to "sheng" together as a group, and rise to greater heights. as huan cheng was saying, "i hope to see the same PG after the auditions." so jia you everyone!! i'm sure all of you will pass wif flying colours!! don't be intimidated by those 4 ppl in the panel!! (they all very frenly one rite??) *hahaha*

p/s: don't think u're rid of me so easily. i'll still pop by once in a while to check on u ppl. *^o^* one more thing.. thanks JJ for that cheesecake!! altho i couldn't finish it. hahaha.

"Well, PG members, on the 16th June there will be an audition held for new intake of students. All current PG members are to take that audition as well."

Hmm, well cos of this upcoming audition, many ppl have re-consider with what they wanna do with their life. You can see ppl leaving the group to carry on with their life, pursuing wat they really want in their life. We just have to say goodbye to them even though, we really hate to do that.

After reading Mosquito's write-up, I come to realise that I never really look at PG as a group but many individuals coming together and perform. We really haf our very own unique style of singing and performing which no other groups can match us. And of cos, looking back at our seniors who have so much personality in them, we still have a long way to get to that standard but that day will come. How soon? No one knows .

What makes me wanna join PG? I wanted to join PG ever since I started my UV class. Too bad I wasnt good enuff back then. But again, the seniors I still remembered very clearly how helpful and actively they were in lws back then. A couple of years back, when I was still in poly, I always join many many singing competitions and whenever I'm in lws practicing for my song, they will sit in, listen to me and give me pointers. Quite touched right? Even though, I dun really know them. Haha! But too bad, I nv get their names. I only know they were very kind to me always :) Helped me a lot too. So therefore, since then I always wanted to join the PG. To me, I guessed I was quite lucky cos I nv attended the PG audition at all unlike what others had gone through :)

When I first started out at PG, I remembered someone asked me why did I join PG. I replied cos I wanna be a singer. Quite honest ar!? Haha! Like everyone in PG, I guessed they quite look forward to every Friday as we get together, practice singing, performing in front of each other, brushing up on our skills, taking part in singing competitions and hanging out after PG practices. Basically the best times of our life. And of cos, there are stressful times when we have to prepare our items, memorising lyrics, dance steps and countless of rehearsing. Sweet memories. Well, we have to re-adjust all over again when new ppl joining in and ppl we know leave.

But I strongly believe, the spirit of LWSSOM PG is always there. And like wat Mosquito said, we will work together and make LWSSOM PG the best performing group in the world, if not at least in Asia la! Haha!! Dare to dream! Dare us!

Yeah talking about the initial thoughts when I first joined PG...

Well, let me tell you guys about my experience. I was kinda a blur kid lah... had done 1 year of UV classes... and then saw the PG audition posters in school. To the best of my knowledge... there was no existing PG during my time as a student... apparently the previous PG had disbanded and it was only later on that I got to know about all the things that happened in school. So technically, I never had a senior PG member, for my batch, we only had WSLS, JJ and HC.

Why did I join PG? Honestly, right at the start... it was just another audition. I had taken part in the internal singing competition and I emerged 3rd in my category, Tiffany (also ex-PG) won 1st =) Then when this audition came, I joined it with my class. I went through the theory and singing auditions... (we had 3 rounds of auditions man) and made it into the PG.

We were very fortunate, because WSLS took a lot of time to train us. He taught us many things and groomed us from the noobs we were to something thats presentable (haha) but all these time, it has never occurred to me that PG is prestigious and exclusive. only now then do I know what others think of it.

So I realise how lucky I was to be in PG... then continuing to be in it with the next batch... and now yet another batch will be incoming!

Unlike Darryl, I didnt join PG with a dream. Not really. But I developed my dream while I was in PG. PG and WSLS, JJ and HC... they have pushed me to beyond my self imposed limits. I'm very thankful for this experience that has made me grown much more than any other place could have done so. None of you have seen me 4 years ago... so maybe you cannot imagine... but take my word for it... PG has done me a world of good.

Although it has never occurred to me that PG is prestigious, but I have always cherished being in PG. During my uni years, it was definitely the highlight of my week... every friday night is something I look forward to during my dreary lectures and tutorials. I am no saint... but I dare say that I have put in effort and contributed to PG always. That is because I care about it, and I love it. Its that simple.

So for those of you who cherish PG... make it known. and make it seen.
May the force be with you.

Hey all.. first time bloggin on LWS PG Blog... gimme support yea? =)

Actually, i guess it'll be quite cool if i posted tots on PG when i first joined till what i feel now....
*wont be long winded.. trust me..jus about 1500 words =P*

I recalled first entering PG around July-Aug last year and to be honest, i always tot LWS PG people were super good and like darn pro and very outstanding... so i was a little sceptical as to whether ill be able to fit in... and knowing my theory and pitching is not so good, and the tot that i was a former proj. superstar and whatever, i was lagi more scared of pressure and expectation.... but i wanted that challenge.. so i joined... and yea, as things happened, i didnt really do well and not quite up there yet.... despite having lotsa fun at PG, i tot i wasnt quite up for it and that i should not continue... thus, when my NS came, i saw it as like an escape.....

however, knowing in my heart that i wanna be the best that i can be at singing and performing, i took up individual classes *coz my workin schedule wouldnt fit a grp class* and found myself falling in love with music once more..... and being more clear with my direction..... thus, after 6 mths when JJ asked me if i still wanna go to PG... i said, its better now or never.... coz i might not make it when the new auditions come again.....

And now, im glad that i am PG and being happy as a member.....
And to be honest, i cherish very much the fact that im a member of LWS Elite students and that we get regular opportunities to perform...we get regular opportunites to tink of new dances and songs, we get regular exposure and most imptly, we are able to train regularly...
With all these opportunities, i dun see why LWS cannot be a TOP performing group in Singapore and Asia....

I dream big coz i wanna make it big.... If u have the same vision as me, lets work it in PG and bring the best out of our skool... we have the opportunity now to be the best.... cherish it. =))

hey guys.. this sat's show shall be my last cos i'm gonna leave the PG for now. i'm going to miss all of u.. but don't 4get me k? it's been a fantastic year cos u guys are the best.. haven't reallie been contributing much to the PG during the past year so i sincerely apologise. so as not to drag u guys down wif my lack of contribution, i've decided to leave the PG.. also becos i'm in my final year of uni and i'm going to be kinda bz wif my final year projects and other modules.. perhaps i'll come back for auditions again after i graduate?

in the meantime i'll come back to visit u guys often, so don't 4get me k? haha. all the best for all future performances and do inform me of any supper gatherings or shows so i can go and support ya??? *^o^*

whoever else joining superband/superstar etc in the future let me know so i can go support too! jia you to those taking part in competitions!! JIA YOU JIA YOU!!

Today was an exciting day... the ex-PG members came back for a mini exchange session with the current PG! So what happens when the 3rd batch meets the 4th and 5th batch combined? a lot of singing and laughing!!! hahaha.

He conducted the practice today =) As usual, I missed about half of the PG practice...
Practice was going through the medley of cartoon themesongs as well as learning the steps of Kuai Le Chong Bai.

The moment I enter the clubhouse after teaching my friday class, people are getting ready to leave...

Wahahahaha, going to Taka to do the soundchecking for the show tonight! yes tonight, its already past midnight. I'm heading to sleep soon, must get up early to go vote for my MP before heading to LWS for an early 2pm class...

Back on topic, the sound check went well at Taka, I was recording the various items with Jiayu's new N70. good phone man... but i'm too poor to get that phone wahahaha (off topic again). anyway! the phone only allows like 8-9mins of video so i couldnt record all the items, so only the kuai le chong bai, honey and select parts of the I Swear medley were recorded. I'll load them up once i get the vids from jiayu.

but no worries!!! there will be a vid cam at the show itself and the show will be recorded :)

Jiayou!!! have a fun time on stage =)

omigawd, once again, i cant stand it... cuz i'm not gonna be performing. argh.

Personally, i feel uber sad cuz this will be the first show i've missed since the last time i overslept and arrived right when PG was singing the last song and just in time to join them for breakfast (hohoho) yes, looking back, i realised that i have been at every single show except for that and this coming one =( AND ITS AT TAKA!!! omg its gonna be so cool i cant believe i have to miss it =(

I'm SICK! Sick= feeling weak and horrible NOT thoughts that are sick the sick.
CRIES! Help me! Exams's just two days away and i'm down with this stupid FLU~ Faints. NOT BIRD FLU PLEASE~ haiyo~ anyway, 3 cheers for me! cos i'm gonna be free for 3 weekends! So... I wasnt there for PG practice until about 830pm...

Apparently Huancheng Laoshi had them doing rhythm and beats with all sorts of uber fun words thrown in D= ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF THEORY!!!

2nd part of the practice was a revision of the Cartoon medley =D

Practice lasted till 10pm and the few of us tried to revise the Honey item for this up coming MAY 6th show @ TAKA!!! omg couldnt remember the steps at first... until we did it a few times and recalled the steps slowly with the help of the dance MV (HAHA)

Yes... as sheena posted.. this is the EARLIEST PG NIGHT in months (rofl)
we're all tired and went home right after doing what we had to do. Me personally have to wake up at 830am tmr. WHY AM I STILL BLOGGING HERE?!?!??!
